Artist Statement
I live in this opulent landscape immortalized by the Hudson River painters, containing mills and factories abandoned in the aftermath of waning industrialization, and main streets littered with Scratch game tickets. I’m interested in this dichotomy, and often render portions of Hudson River School paintings, while including contemporary convenience store inspired imagery. The interplay of these images suggests the visual confusion found in our social media saturated world.
