Artist Statement
Sienna Louise Reid has pursued a lifetime of exploration, inquisition and excavation of history, mythology and linguistics in order to materialize her creations in drawing, painting, photography, filmmaking, writing and recently sculpture. This year, she’s exhibiting a sample of drawings from the last three decades of her life, which have not been previously shown. Originally hailing from a small Victorian seaport town in the Pacific Northwest, she lived and exhibited her work in Seattle, Denver and then Italy for 14 years, exploring its many mysteries hidden behind secret doors. Some years ago she found home in Hudson, where she lives in a turn of the century house with a studio converted from a deer slaughtering barn, with her husband and their rescued twin girl tuxedo kitties.
