Artist Statement
My personal art focusses on finding beauty in the natural world. Birds, dragonflies, fish and flowers all figure prominently in my imagery. I’ve also recently been exploring photo montage, using remnants of old work in a collage format. The gardens I create are inspirations for my work as I document the changing seasons and the flora and fauna that arrive to visit. There are many wonderful places in Columbia County to draw from too: Olana, Mud Creek, Won Dharma and all the CLC lands continue to inspire me. I’ve recently moved to a new house and starting fresh with nothing but lawn and two trees has been an adventure. I’m currently engrossed in an explosion of sunflowers that will be attracting the birds this fall. So far my neighbors appreciate my efforts.
